The first segment in Cynosure, a short film exploring the disruptive fervour of queer energy to the stability of a temperature-regulated space. Set in a fridge, the film uses this temperature-regulated setting as a metaphor for the stale 'frost' of normative society, which prides itself on remaining stable; queer activity threatens to tremor this stability. In this first section of the film, a flamboyant Parasite finds itself in a homeostatic setting: the temperature is low, and the environment is sterile. Upon discovering an object to play with, the Parasite is tempted to cause havoc. Their performance initiates a heat increase, alluded to by the dripping graphics appearing in the background. This offsets a burst of queer energy, which will unfold throughout the remainder of the film.
